Busy times

I am now 40!!!!
I have been a very lucky lady - got the chance to spend some quality adult time with my lovely hubby in Venice for a few days then partied till my feet would dance no more with family, and friends!
What a way to start off this new period in my life .... 40s! Bring it on.....
Also celebrated our 19th Wedding Anniversary. Time flies - we will have been together 20 years in June 25th this year. I can't believe almost half my life has been spent together.

Dad turns Sixty-five

Met up with most of the family to celebrate dad's birthday at Frankie & Benny's in Tamworth.
Dad was delighted to see us there - Helen had managed to surprise him!!
Went back to their home/worksite after to see the progress they're making. Still a long way to go but definite headway being made!

Jan 2013 - Week 1

Wednesday
Colin started back at work. Continues to work for DHL based at Hamms Hall. Currently working Monday-Thursday nights.

Thursday
Still having B12 injections.
After today's dose I dropped Josh & Ryan at the Chapel for a Seminary Catch-up day, after which Barbara (Gray) treated them to a meal at the Harvester.

Friday
Went to see'The Hobbit' last night with Colin & Sophie. Josh & Ethan had already seen it, Ryan opted out but I imagine will now want to see it!
Enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Martin Freeman portrays Bilbo Baggins very well... Good comedic element!

Saturday
First blood donation of the year.....
Wonder if Josh will join me when he turns 17. Colin used to go but doesn't handle blood well so it was suggested he no longer donate! ;)

Twenty-thirteen

Well that seemed to work! :)

Yesterday we met up with most of 'The Summers' Clan' and enjoyed food and conversation.

Prior to that we said farewell to the Lowries who left to travel home after spending time with us at the weekend for the 'Hill Gathering'.

We all had a wonderful weekend together, only disappointment was that Caroline, Lindsey, Katelyn & Scarlett couldn't be there with us in person, although we did have the chance to Skype whilst altogether.

Amanda shared details of her new job.... Her new job title is 'Chief Brands Officer' for BBC Worldwide - she has worked incredibly hard to achieve her current position - we are all very proud of her.

Last night was lovely as always; just the six of us.

Lanterns, food, being together.... Bliss!

We have a family motto for the year....
"The love of a family is life's greatest blessing."
It takes pride of place in our Living Room.

I hope this is a wonderful year for us all!

Adieu Twenty-twelve

We have had a wonderful few days celebrating Christmas with our nearest and dearest.

I am excited to be using my iPad mini for this entry, which means that I can hopefully make more regular entries.....

Let's test this app's capabilities......
